I'm Bekah June
I am an author, illustrator, marketer, and someone who has spent the better part of my life convinced that there is more to this world than what we can explain.
I grew up fascinated by the unexplained. The kind of stories that don't have clean endings and sometimes rather messy ones. The things people see in the woods, or in the sky, the oceans, or in the corner of a room at night. That curiosity never really went away, it just grew into something bigger.
Over the years, I've spent time studying the paranormal, supernatural, researching the history of spiritualism, and asking the same question that humans have always asked: why do we keep looking for something beyond what we can see?
That research led me to write Turning the Table: A Look at the Victorian Supernatural Obsession, and eventually to create Voicemails of the Unexplained, a scripted/improvised mystery series built around folklore, memory, and messages from somewhere just outside this realm.
Field Notes of the Unexplained is an extension of all of that, a way to bring the research, the art, and the wonder into something tangible. Something you can hold.
When I'm not deep in a rabbit hole about cryptids or spiritualist history, I am writing under Under my pen name R.J. Alexander, I also write thrillers — espionage, sci-fi, and paranormal fiction.
I am based in Oklahoma with my husband, two adventurous teenagers, two dogs who have too much energy, and one very curious cat.
I look forward to sharing my obsession with you.
