At the beginning of my art career, someone told me that I would need to choose between being an artist and being a writer. I focused on being an artist, but I never stopped writing or performing at open mic nights. For 10 years, I wrote while shipping my art for exhibitions and attending prestigious artist residencies. I don't want to hide this part of myself anymore. I've always been a writer AND an artist. I've always been both.
