About the creator
My name is Desiree, and alongside my husband, I run a vintage furniture refinishing business focused on restoring mid-century modern pieces and keeping beautiful furniture out of landfills. Over the years, our work has introduced us to some of the most interesting vintage interiors, forgotten objects, and design stories — the kinds of pieces that carry history, personality, and a little mystery with them.
Wanting to share that inspiration is what led me here.
This year I’m turning 40, and somewhere between being a mom, a wife, a teacher, a small business owner, and navigating chronic illness, I realized I had slowly drifted away from a part of myself: the artist.
So on the edge of this new decade, I’m starting something new. Not from scratch, but from experience. From years spent surrounded by texture, color, design, nostalgia, and creativity. This project is my way of reclaiming the title of artist and creating something personal, tangible, and meaningful to share with other people who love beautiful old things as much as I do.
