Well, hello there!
I’m Tosha, a middle school English teacher, lifelong notebook collector, professional rabbit-hole explorer, and a country girl at heart who somehow ended up living in the city.
Most days, you’ll find me teaching 7th graders, reading at least two books at once, adding “just one more journal” to my collection, or planning my next road trip before I’ve even unpacked from the last one. I love wandering through bookstores, antique shops, small-town main streets, state parks, and anywhere with a good view and a story to tell.
When I’m home, my two dachshunds are my constant sidekicks. They firmly believe they’re in charge, and after living with them, I’ve stopped arguing.
I started Vellum & Violets because I wanted to create the kind of mail I’d be excited to find in my own mailbox. Every month, I’ll share a little slice of my world. Sometimes it’s a book that’s been living rent-free in my head. Sometimes it’s a place I’ve explored, a funny classroom story (don’t worry, no names!), a favorite recipe, a journal prompt, or a random fact that sent me down an internet rabbit hole at 10:00 p.m.
Life isn’t curated around here. It’s real, occasionally chaotic, usually funny, and full of little moments that are worth paying attention to.
If you’re someone who loves paper, handwritten notes, road trips, nature, good books, journaling, and finding joy in everyday life, I think we’ll get along just fine.
Thanks for stopping by. I’m really glad you’re here, and I can’t wait to share each month’s adventures with you.
