Writings from the Wild

Every month features a new animal through a double-sided letter drawn by hand in colored pencil and watercolor, with facts, tracks and a range map. The Basic plan adds a collector's card color-coded by biome and printable activity sheets; Premium also includes a postcard, a die-cut sticker and a Sketchbook Files page with the animal's classification and drawing steps. Recent animals include a dolphin, a lemur and an okapi.

Basic costs $7 a month and Premium $10, with sibling options that add extra cards, postcards and stickers to the same envelope. Letters mail from the US by stamped mail in mid to late month, including to international addresses, and renewing 6 and 12-month plans are also offered.

Made for animal-loving kids, roughly ages 5 to 11.
