Hi, I’m Eliana, the writer and traveler behind Letters From a Friend Abroad.
I’ve spent most of my adult life living overseas, and this mail club grew from the way I have always experienced a place: through the small details. The bakery I keep going back to, the words people actually use, the things I notice from a bus window, and the little objects I would save for someone I love.
Each month, I turn those details into a real letter and mail it from the city I am living in or traveling through. I also include a locally purchased postcard, cultural notes, local words and phrases, and a small keepsake from the journey.
It is not meant to feel like a subscription box. It is meant to feel like opening your mailbox and realizing that someone, somewhere in the world, thought of you.
