Sobre el artista

Hello! My name is Christopher McCaig. I’m a first responder, an artist, and a lifelong maker of things. For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of becoming a full-time artist, but for years I convinced myself that dream was out of reach, that making a living through art was something other people did. Well, I’ve decided to stop treating my dream like a distant possibility and start chasing it. But what does that mean to me? More than simply making art, it means having the freedom to express myself, work through emotions and experiences, tell stories, and, above all, create. I’ve always been drawn to making things, whether that’s sketching, painting, woodworking, writing, or music. I’m something of a creative polymath, and my interests tend to bleed into each other. Here, you’ll find that curiosity and passion taking shape through original paintings, illustrations, and writing. Sometimes, a piece of art begins with a poem or an idea I can’t quite put into words. Other times, I simply think something looks cool and want to paint it. I believe there’s room for both. So, what is the mail club? Think of it as a little piece of my creative world delivered to your mailbox every month. As a member, you’ll receive a print of an original painting or illustration, created exclusively for the mail club, along with a bit of accompanying writing, perhaps a poem, a reflection, or a few words about the inspiration behind the piece. It’s a chance to collect the artwork, experience the stories behind it, and follow along as I continue to grow as an artist. Members will also get first dibs on original mail club paintings and illustrations when they become available for purchase, with early offers sent to the mail club email list before anything is offered to the general public. Thank you for being here, for supporting independent art, and for helping me turn a lifelong dream into something real. I’m glad you’re here and I hope you find something here that speaks to you. Love, Christopher
