À propos de l'artiste
Hi, I'm Jennifer from Upper Michigan(aka the UP). I'm the creator of Bookworm Besties and Bookworm Besties Deluxe, my new book related snail mail clubs. The contents of these clubs will be designed & printed by myself. The Bookmarks and Postcards will all be individually hand pulled block prints. In the Deluxe version, the bookmarks and postcards will be individually painted, each one a little different than the next one.
I started this club as a fun way to honor, stay connected to, and keep our late daughter, Marissa's memory alive. We shared a love of art, and so, about a year ago, I decided to shift part of my creative focus from Fused Glass to print making since she loved printmaking. Nature and local history are my usual subjects, but now I include her interests in my work, too. Thus a bookworm related club, as she was an avid reader and book collector. She even had a Tictoc series called "Ryssa_the_Bookworm" on which she referred to her followers as her "Book Besties".
I also want this club to have a "pay it forward" feeling because Marissa was kind to all. I plan on sending it to a few people who may be in need of a lift or some whimsy and there will be a block printed postcard in each month that could be mailed to your loved one or someone you want to brighten the day for.
Finally, I will put a percentage of the proceeds into a fund to hold a public event or a scholarship in Marissa’s honor.
I'm also a wife, have a son, daughter-in-law and soon to be 4 grandchildren who provide me with a dose of sunshine right when I need it. I have a group of friends that play Mahjong every week for another dose of laughter and encouragement. I hope my club mailing brings a touch of whimsy and a smile to your eyes!
