À propos de l'artiste

Meet Rae Missigman—a mixed media artist, author, and instructor known for her vivid color palettes, intricate layering, and signature repetitive art marks. Rae believes creativity doesn’t require vast stretches of uninterrupted time. Instead, it can be nurtured in small, meaningful moments, even within the busiest of days. Her work is rooted in distinctive mark making, combining an intuitive approach with a deep love of layering, texture, and visual storytelling to create pieces that are unmistakably her own. Entirely self-taught, Rae has developed a distinctive artistic style that she wholeheartedly embraces. Her creative practice spans watercolor, embroidery, textile arts, art journaling, book arts, and beyond—allowing her to continually explore the interplay of color, texture, rhythm, and pattern. As an instructor, Rae encourages artists to trust their instincts and create fearlessly. She champions the development of a bold artistic voice, a commitment to lifelong learning, and the practice of finding inspiration in the beauty of the everyday. Rae is the author of Paint Play Explore: Expressive Mark Making Techniques in Mixed Media, which chronicles her journey into art marks and creative exploration. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including Faber-Castell industry catalogs, Where Women Create, Somerset Life, Art Journaling, and Romantic Homes.
