Marisol at Sea is a story told through the mail, and continued between mailings on Substack.
Set aboard the fictional S.S. Montrose in 1952, each physical passage begins with a letter from Marisol to you, accompanied by photographs, menus, shipboard notices, drawings, and other pieces of ephemera gathered during her travels.
Between passages, the voyage continues on Substack with new stories, photographs, glimpses of Marisol’s world, and updates from the route ahead.
Marisol is curious, stylish, observant, and slightly mischievous. She notices the details other people miss and has opinions about nearly everything.
Each mailing arrives in a flat envelope, designed to feel like a piece of personal correspondence sent from Marisol’s world to yours.
