The Story Behind Light in Letters Hello, I'm Irene, the founder of Light in Letters. In a world that moves ever faster and is filled with digital communication, I found myself longing for something that often gets lost along the way: genuine connection, intentional pauses, and the simple joy of handwritten words. At some point, I realized that my mailbox contained nothing but bills. At the same time, I was constantly online, yet I still didn’t feel truly connected. I started writing letters again—and discovered how much peace and joy there is in it. With Light in Letters, I wanted to create a space where people can slow down and reconnect with themselves. A place where mindfulness, creativity, and appreciation have a home—and where a simple letter can become a small moment of light in everyday life. My vision is to bring people together through handwritten correspondence and offer them a meaningful pause from the busyness of daily life each month. Because sometimes it is the simplest things—a letter in the mailbox, a few heartfelt words, a quiet moment—that touch us most deeply. What fascinates me most about letters is their lasting nature. Unlike digital messages, they do not disappear into an inbox or get buried beneath endless notifications. They remain. You can return to them again and again, reread them, and relive the feelings of the moment they were written. Over time, they become treasured keepsakes—and sometimes even small works of art that hold a special place in our homes and our hearts.
