The subscription is $8 a month and you receive the current month's package whenever you join, even on the last day. Mail goes out a few business days after your monthly charge date with a first class forever stamp, so shipping is free but untracked, and delivery usually takes 1 to 5 business days. Order other shop items separately to avoid shipping charges on the subscription.
