Launch offers: a free first month and a founding price
Help your first members say yes: their first mailing free, a lower price kept for as long as they stay, or both.
Both offers are in Subscription → Launch offers. You can use one, the other, or both together.
First month free
Turn on First month free, optionally limited to the first N members. New members pay nothing for their first mailing (you still cover postage), then your normal price from their second mailing.
- It applies to monthly plans only, not to prepay plans.
- When the limit is reached, the offer stops by itself.
- Their first payment happens at the next cut-off, so nothing appears in Stripe when they join. See Why does Stripe say "free trial"?
Founding price
A founding price is a discount for your first members that they keep for as long as they stay subscribed. Perfect for a launch: "The first 50 members pay $12 instead of $15, forever."
Turn on Offer a founding price and set:
- Discount: a percentage off every tier (1–90%).
- Founding spots (how many members get it), a Last day to join, or both.
When the spots are taken or the last day has passed, the offer ends and new members pay your regular price. Founding members keep their price.
What members see
Your club page shows Founding price: X% off with the regular price crossed out, and how many spots are left when you set a limit.
Good to know
- Prepay discounts apply on top of the founding price. Shipping stays at its normal price.
- Gifts are always at the regular price.
- A founding member who leaves doesn't free a spot. Spots count everyone who joined at the founding price.
- Turning the offer off and on again starts a new count of spots. People who already have the founding price keep it.
- In Subscribers, founding members have a Founding label.
