When will my first mail arrive?
How clubs schedule their mailings, and why you might start with next month's.
Clubs ship on a fixed day each month
Every club sends its mail on the same day each month. A few days before that, there's a cut-off: the last moment to join and still be included in that month's mailing.
- Join before the cut-off → your first mail is this month's mailing.
- Join after the cut-off → your first mail is next month's mailing.
Your checkout page shows exactly when your first mailing ships ("ships around …"), and your welcome email repeats that date.
Joining late in the day? The cut-off closes at midnight UTC. In North and South America that's the evening before the cut-off date on your calendar, for example 7 PM in the US Central time zone.
When will it arrive?
The ship date is when the club posts your mail. Delivery time then depends on the postal service and the distance. You'll get a "your mail is on the way" email when the club marks the mailing as sent. Clubs don't usually send tracking numbers for letters.
If your mail hasn't arrived a few weeks after that email, contact the club.
"Free trial" on my receipt?
You were charged in full for your first mailing when you joined. Some Stripe receipts label the time until your next charge as a "trial", which just means "no further charge until your next mailing's cut-off". It isn't a free period.
Buying as a gift
There's no separate gift option yet: subscribe with the recipient's shipping address. The subscription renews each month until it's cancelled, so remember to cancel it from Manage your subscription when the gift should end.
