Cancel, refund, or fix a duplicate subscriber
Cancel a subscription for someone, refund a payment, or clean up an accidental double sign-up.
All of this happens in Subscribers → Details (next to the subscriber), in their billing section.
Cancel a subscription
- Click Cancel this subscription…
- Confirm with Cancel subscription.
The subscription stops at the end of the period they've paid for: no further charges, and anything they've already paid for still ships. Their status shows Cancels [date], and you can click Undo until that date.
Subscribers can also cancel themselves from Manage your subscription in any of their emails.
Refund a payment
Each paid invoice in their billing history has a Refund button. It refunds that whole payment to their card, and MailClubly's commission on it is refunded too.
- If the refunded payment was for a mailing that hasn't shipped yet, that mailing is marked Refunded and drops off your shipping list.
- Refunding doesn't cancel the subscription. To stop future charges too, also cancel it (above).
Someone subscribed twice by accident
This happens when someone isn't sure their first checkout worked. You'll see the same person twice in Subscribers.
- Open Details on the duplicate (usually the newer one).
- Refund its payment.
- Cancel that subscription.
Check first: the same email appearing twice isn't always a mistake. Some people buy a second subscription as a gift: the two will have different shipping names and addresses. If in doubt, reply to one of their emails from your Messages tab and ask.
